I love this study, and it’s Canadian! And it shows that menopause education is SO-O-O-O important.
Coming out of Edmonton, Alberta, a recent study demonstrated that menopausal women who understand their symptoms and treatment options, fared much better than those who did not receive the same information.
The study appeared in Menopause: The Journal of the North American Menopause Society. It compared changes over time in the menopause symptoms and quality of life. The study sampled 139 women, comparing clinic patients with symptoms to women on the clinic’s waitlist.
It concluded that women attending specialized menopause clinics experienced an improvement in symptoms and quality of life, compared with women on the waiting list, who showed no improvements (1).
